IVONNE MEDINA
Ivonne Medina is the Principal at Esperanza Elementary in West Valley City, Utah. Previously, she served as the Assistant Principal and Special Education Director. She has been in education for over 10 years and recently earned her M.Ed. in Educational Leadership from Weber State University.
Ivonne was born in Mexico City and migrated to the United States when she was in third grade. She graduated from Hunter High School and went on to complete a Bachelor's degree in Communication Disorders and Special Education. She is a strong advocate for education, especially within the Hispanic community. Her professional mantra is: “Agradece que estás aquí en este momento – You should always be thankful you are here.”
When not working, Ivonne enjoys spending time with her daughter, son, and husband, exploring nature, watching movies, and celebrating family fiestas.
