Principal
Eulogio Alejandre has been an educator for more than 28 years. He has been a teacher of elementary, junior high and senior high students in the Salt Lake and Ogden school districts. He has been a principal, a district office teacher specialist and a soccer coach. Most recently Mr. Alejandre was the Student2Student Outreach Program Coordinator at Weber State University. As a second job, Mr. Alejandre has been an adjunct professor of Spanish at Westminster College and Weber State University.
Mr. Alejandre immigrated to Ogden from Mexico with his family when he was 12 years old. He has successfully navigated the public school system to achieve a Master of Science degree in Education and an Administrative/Supervisory license from the Utah State Office of Education. |

Vice Principal 3rd - 6th grade
Julia Barrientos has worked in education for over 20 years. She was born and raised in Salt Lake City, Utah. Ms. Barrientos studied Sociology and Cultural Anthropology at Lewis and Clark College in Portland, Oregon and attended the Masters in Education program at Westminster College in Salt Lake City. She also attendedUniversite Cheikh Anta Diop in Dakar, Senegal, West Africa; Tokyo Daigaku in Japan; and the Universidad Nacional Del Salvador in San Salvador, El Salvador. Ms. Barrientos has a passion for developing unique learning opportunities for children and youth. She has played an integral part in opening many schools in the US and abroad. Her favorite part of her work at Esperanza is developing caring relationships with the children, guiding them to believe in themselves and become great community members and world leader.

Vice Principal K - 2nd grade
Jessica Garay was born in the state of Guerrero, Mexico. She arrived to the United States in 1998. The hardships she went through as an English language learner and from being a monoritized student, are what motivated her to pursue a career as an elementary school teacher. She wanted to become a role model for her students, in order to inspire them to pursue higher education. Mrs. Garay graduated from the University of Utah in 2015, with a bachelor's of science degree in Elementary Education. That same year, she began her career at Esperanza Elementary. During the past five years, she has worked as a teacher, instructional coach and is currently one of the assistant principals. Mrs. Garay is currently in the process of obtaining her educational state administrative licensure and her Master's degree in Leadership and Policy form the University of Utah. She is expected to graduate in May of 2020. Jessica Garay Feels very fortunate to be part of the Esperanza Elementary family and will continue to work towards helping and empowering our students to become obliterate, multicultural, and to acquire the skills and attributes they need to effectively lead in our local and global community.
